My Sailing Life Going Forward…Exploring Options As a Single Female Sailor (Sailing Brick House #86)
After Michael Hayward left on Amiga Mia, and back to Cape Town, I had some decisions to make… sail on someone else’s boat, sail on mine and find some crew…sail solo? Park her somewhere luxurious? Buy an RV…who knows.
The Newport boat show clarified a lot in my heart…and in my head…and I returned to my sailboat Brick House with a plan…and this is the plan…
Dear Rebecca,
This was a video full of positive options and great decisions. Well done!
Happy to see what is going to come up.
My experience in life…do not try to push things…they will come when it is time for it. Have you made the same experiences? Exception to the rule…fix what is broken…smile 😜😜😜
Warm greetings from cold Belgium
Jeanne
I hope you keep sailing there are groups that sail out of the Chesapeake and Newport Rhode Island that left a few weeks ago to Bermuda and now the heading down to the US Virgin Islands a friend of mine is a 45-year-old female and she’s solos a 39 ft Pearson she has fallen in love with it. If you ever need a first meet for a passage I could make myself available. I only have about 1500 offshore miles on my 1972 Morgan 40 ketch “MAKAI”, when I sailed down to Florida from Wickford Rhode Island I sold her to pick up a smaller blue water boat I now have a 1970-29 contest (built in holland) that I am setting up to solo. If you wish to get in contact with Amy ( wahine) I can get you that info or she is on the AIS. She is a nurse that loves to sail.. hope to meet up sometime, “never give up” !
Hi Rebecca ,
Just watched the latest. You can do this! Its a whole different level of responsibility and
stress, but you can do it. You know it ,I know it and you’ve just got to complete the circumnavigation. Go for it . Safe passage and fair winds.Liz
