Adding Power to my RV for Boondocking Off Grid

Many National Parks have campgrounds. And they don’t have hookups for power, Water, or sewer… So I knew I needed to figure out how to setup my RV for boondocking and off grid living!

So my stock RV came with one lead acid battery, a converter that would never charge it properly, and everything i need to plug in at an RV Park

But who wants to be in an RV park all the time when sometimes you can venture out to beautiful places in nature that don’t have plug ins! Many National parks have campgrounds that don’t even have any hookups at all.

I can conserve on water and hence filling up my tanks… but electric must be considered when boondocking. So here is what I did from day 1 to get ready.

Watch the video for an overview of my electric and power setup for boondocking… … but more details will come soon…

My Sailing Life…what to do after sailing 60,000 miles for 20+ Years?

How does one ever live as full of a life as you do when you are cruising full time, crossing oceans!? What do you do as a second act? Why sell the boat if that’s such a hard question? Well, I hope this video can answer some of the questions as least as to why I would put Brick House up for sale…Yes..I put her up for sale…this is the story…

Brick House for Sale?

Now RVing… but can’t get boating out of my system!

I know…I’ve skipped a lot… but I’m trying to pick up the pieces of this site…if it’s worthwhile…

I still hear the water calling me… but so much has changed…

Im in an RV now…I’m not really sailing anymore. Not to say I never will again but probably not on my own boat. The best boat is someone else’s boat!
But the best boat on an RV…definitely a kayak!

This kayak folds up small…is light so I can easily carry it to any waters edge, and it’s sturdy enough to keep me safe and stable and to get out on the water! Its an Oru kayak. Just the entry level. I have a feeling I’m gonna upgrade to go in to water that’s a little more coastal! The Okefenokee Swamp is amazing…but I’m a coast girl really!
